Central Serengeti
Your adventure kicks off with a scenic flight from Arusha to Seronera, the heart of the central Serengeti. As you descend, you’ll notice the expansive green plains, a result of the recent rains, which have transformed the area into a paradise for herbivores. During May and June, the central Serengeti is a bustling hub of wildlife activity. The wildebeest and zebra herds are still gathered here, preparing to make their way toward the western corridor.
Upon landing, you’ll be greeted by our team and whisked away on your first game drive. The Seronera River Valley is particularly rich in wildlife at this time, drawing a variety of animals, including elephants, giraffes, and an array of predators. The river serves as a lifeline in this region, attracting predators such as lions and leopards, who are often seen lounging in the shade of acacia trees or stalking their prey through the tall grass.
In the late afternoon, as the sun begins to set, the central Serengeti comes alive with the sounds of the wild. You’ll return to your lodge, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s sightings while enjoying the tranquil ambiance of the African bush. The evening is yours to enjoy, whether you choose to dine under the stars or simply unwind in the comfort of your lodge.

Western Serengeti
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll set out on a full day of exploration, tracking the Great Migration as it moves from the central Serengeti toward the western corridor. The exact route you take will depend on the location of the herds, as they can be spread out over vast distances at this time of year. Your experienced guide will take you to the best spots, whether that’s in the lush plains of central Serengeti or further west toward the Grumeti River.
As the herds begin their journey, the central plains may still offer incredible scenes of dense herds grazing, with calves following closely behind their mothers. The western Serengeti, however, introduces a different landscape—rolling hills, dense woodlands, and the famous Grumeti River, where the first of the river crossings may begin. The river is home to some of the largest crocodiles in Africa, who lie in wait for the herds, leading to heart-pounding moments as the animals brave the treacherous waters.
Throughout the day, you’ll witness not just the migrating wildebeest and zebras, but also the predators that follow them. Lions, leopards, and hyenas are particularly active, taking advantage of the abundance of prey. As the sun dips low on the horizon, you’ll arrive at your lodge in the western Serengeti, where you can unwind and savor the day’s experiences. The evening is a perfect time to listen to the sounds of the Serengeti and enjoy a peaceful night under the African sky.
