Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam at 6:00 a.m. for a 5-hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Known for its open savannahs, similar to the Serengeti, Mikumi is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, zebras, and buffalo. By mid-morning, you'll start your first game drive, witnessing the park's abundant wildlife against a stunning backdrop of mountains. Around noon, stop at a designated picnic site for lunch, surrounded by nature. The afternoon game drive offers further exploration, where you’ll visit the Mkata Floodplain, known for large herds of animals and, if lucky, a sighting of Mikumi's lions. By 5:30 p.m., arrive at your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Start the second day with an early morning game drive around 6:00 a.m., one of the best times to see wildlife as the animals are active and temperatures are cooler. Elephants, antelopes, and various bird species are often seen at this time. Return to the lodge around 9:00 a.m. for breakfast, and then set out for the return journey to Dar es Salaam around 10:30 a.m., reaching the city by mid-afternoon. This marks the end of your Mikumi adventure, with memories of Tanzania’s diverse landscapes and wildlife.
