Your journey into Nyerere National Park starts with an early morning flight from Zanzibar, taking off around 7:00 a.m. and arriving by 8:30 a.m. As one of the largest protected areas in Africa, Nyerere offers expansive landscapes filled with riverine forests, open savannah, and abundant wetlands. On your morning game drive, spot diverse wildlife—elephants, buffalo, and zebras roam freely here, and it’s a prime place to see hippos and crocodiles in the rivers. Around noon, pause for a picnic lunch, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. Later, enjoy a unique boat safari on the Rufiji River from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., where you’ll experience close-up sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife. After this water safari, return to your lodge around 4:30 p.m. for dinner and an evening of relaxation.

On Day 2, set out at 6:00 a.m. for a morning drive, exploring Nyerere’s tranquil landscapes as they come alive in the cool dawn light. Early mornings here often reveal large herbivores like elephants and buffaloes feeding, while predators like lions and leopards can sometimes be spotted lounging from the night’s hunt. Around 9:00 a.m., return to your lodge for breakfast, and then make your way to the airstrip for the return journey.
