Central Serengeti
During the calving season from December to mid-March, the central Serengeti becomes a nursery for the Great Migration.
Your adventure starts with a flight from Arusha to this vibrant area, where thousands of wildebeest give birth almost simultaneously.
This period is crucial for the survival of the species, as nearly 8,000 calves are born daily. However, it’s also a time of danger, as predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are on high alert, making it a thrilling time to visit.
The lush plains of the central Serengeti provide the perfect backdrop for these dramatic scenes. Your game drives will take you close to the action, where you’ll witness the tender moments between mothers and calves and the tense standoffs with predators. Birdlife is also abundant, with many species nesting and displaying vibrant plumage.
In the evenings, you’ll retreat to your lodge, reflecting on the day’s experiences. The following morning, enjoy another game drive to soak in the Serengeti’s wonders

Central Serengeti
Full day game drive in the Ndutu region in south Serengeti.
After our hearty breakfast, we head out to enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu region. We endeavor to explore the range of different habitats found here that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. And of course there is the awesome sight of the great thronging herds of wildebeest and zebra.
During a short time frame around January, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calves about half a million in number are born in this awesome act of synchronized birthing.
The sea of grass provides little cover and the young Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.

Full-day game drive as you travel between Ndutu and Central Serengeti.
After a good breakfast, you will head out towards central Serengeti. Serengeti means endless plains in the local language. The grassland literally stretches out as far as the eye can see, eventually merging with the sky at the horizon. It is quite extraordinary.
The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of game in Africa. Look out for the Serengeti Kopjes which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna, and are a favorite perch among the lions.
A picnic lunch will be done during the day-long game drive itself.
The eventful day comes to an end with a sumptuous dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

Home to over 120 mammal species, including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the world's most sought-after safari destinations. It is a perfect place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains and large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water. From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, you can observe and photograph some of Africa's most recognizable faces.
Following a rewarding game drive, enjoy a picnic near the famed Hippo pool. An additional short game drive precedes our ascent from the crater. We depart towards Arusha, aiming to return by 5 pm, allowing flexibility for travel arrangements.
