Lappet Faced Safaris

Me and a friend went on an 8 day safari with Lappet and had a great time. Our guide Gabriel was super nice and knowledgeable and we had a great time. Thankyou guys

Our safari adventure was truly amazing. We got into the heart of spectacular Tanzania: Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara. The animals were all around us. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and came home with fabulous memories and photographs. Our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating. He spotted animals across the wild plains and anticipated our every need. It could not have been a better week!

Me and my wife took a private 5-day safari with lappet faced safaris and it went fantastic! Our experience started with requesting a quote through this website. We received a response the same day with several options and all our questions answered. Even though lappet faced safaris offer was more expensive than other quotes we received, we decided to accept it, and that was the right decision! I was a little bit hesitant to deposit 10% in advance, but it also turned out to be ok. We even had to reschedule the trip due to personal issues, and this was not a problem for the operator. We received a list off all the requirements we needed to enter Tanzania including an invitation to apply for eVisa. Our director Francisco followed up regularly to make sure we have our paper work ready. The safari itself went brilliant! Our guide Emanuel showed great knowledge about the wildlife and local culture. He was always in contact with other drivers in a park. We always arrived on a spot when there were only a few cars and we got the best view point. We really enjoyed game drives with him. Our favourite park is of course Serengeti Nation Park. The coolest thing was to see the whole big five in one day, before noon. We were lucky to see a black rhino crossing the road right in front of us, lions having zebra for breakfast, a leopard fending off his pray from a pack of hyenas and taking it on a tree, and a pride of lions playing with its with cubs. The next day we saw four cheetahs hunting an antilope. This was a fantastic end for our safari! During the five days we stayed in awesome hotels and game camps. Each place offered great service and clean rooms with canopy over the bed. Each place offered other facilities like bars, swimming pools, massage and spa services. One advise I can offer is to bring a power plug adapter, since Tanzania has UK type power plugs. Another concern we had before our trip was the food. However there was nothing to worry about! Each place we stayed in offered an open buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious food. Local and international cuisine. After the safari we had a day free in Arusha. We ordered a one day Arusha tour at lappet faced safaris. We went to the masai market and orphanage center which lappet faced safaris support. This was another amazing experience delivered by lappet faced safaris Now we have a ton of photos to go through with our family and friends, and we cannot stop advertising Tanzania and lappet faced safaris to them!

We chose for Lappet Faced Safaris to be our tour operator when climbing Mt. Meru. We were well taken care of before and after our trek including a small city tour by Francisco. The crew around the lead guide and the porters were very welcoming from the start and left us with great memories from the trek. Highly recommended.

There were absolutely no surprises on this trip. Everything went very smoothly as planned. From the moment we arrived in Tanzania and until we boarded our plane to return home, our tour operator was readily available and ensured we were well care for. Even the first night, our tour operator made sure that the hotel would have a late dinner for us as our flight didn't arrive until 10:00 p.m. Our accommodations we're very comfortable and equaled the quality as presented in a brochure. The lodges had beautiful grounds, roomy accommodations and wonderful meals. Our guide was wonderful and very responsive to our needs. Additionally, it was important to him that we had a great experience. I loved the fact that he always prepared us for the next day's game plan. The game drives were wonderful; but in addition, loved the cultural aspect as well. Meeting the Maasai, Hadzabe and the Datoga tribes was one of the major highlights of the trip. Especially, the opportunity to go hunting with the Hadzabe tribe. It is something not to be missed. As for the value of this trip, I must say it was very reasonably priced. I really felt we got our money's worth. I usually read tour reviews of other travelers but typically do not write any myself. However, I chose to this time because I was very pleased with the communication planning the trip as well as the trip itself....got to see the BIG 5!!!

Had a great experience with them. Noel, our guide, went above and beyond a number of times. The airline lost the luggage for multiple people in our group, and without our guide and Lappet Faced Safaris we would have had a tough time getting it back. They contacted the airline, and hand delivered all of their luggage while we were in the middle of our safari. We didn't miss a minute of our awesome safari because of it. We also got to see some amazing animals throughout the week, and they accommodated our requests to search for specific animals. We got extremely close to many lions, and even saw a recent kill. Overall great experience and the lodges we stayed at were great as well.

This was the trip of a lifetime. We traveled thru wild Africa among the most amazing animals. We saw -many up close- wildebeest, zebra, cheetah, antelopes, hippos, alligators, hyenas, lions (such adorable cubs!), rhinos, elephants, giraffes, mongoose, ostriches, baboons, monkeys, flamingos, warthogs…. Oh, the thrill and beauty of being among the Baobab and Umbrella trees watching the mammals and birds in their natural habitat. Our thoughtful guide was vigilant in spotting even the shyest creatures. He was extremely knowledgeable about all we saw. He helped us capture the perfect pictures/videos. He accommodated every need to make our trip rewarding and comfortable. We visited three tribes during our week. We met the villagers who live in/near the Serengeti and learned about their lives, we even followed some on a hunt. That was thrilling!

We had an eleven day great safari with Lappet through Arusha national park, Tarangire, Ngorongoro conservancy and crater, Serengeti and Lake Manyara national parks. It was memorable, though I've made a number of safaris in many other African countries, coming back to Tanzania twenty years after proved a very valuable decision. The role of Francisco and Gabriel in making everything happen smoothly was very much appreciated. Both the choice of accommodation, the routing, the organization day by day by Gabriel proved perfect. They made me decide to come back next year with a larger group of family and relatives who have been longing for a dream safari. I am confident Francisco and his colleagues will deliver both on quality and cost.

Completed safari in September 2019 with 2 other females. Our guide Amani was so nice & knowledgeable. We called him the animal whisperer because we’d say we wanted to see an animal & the next thing we’d know we’d be looking at one or more! We saw everything we wanted too, great food, & loved our Serengeti camp stay! We also enjoyed learned about the Maasai culture & visiting a village. The owner Francisco also got us 2 bottles of wine & was very responsive & cared about the quality of our stay! I loved everything about Tanzania! I would definitely safari again with Lappet Faced Safaris

The company were great to deal with in advance in putting together the right itinerary. We saw everything we hoped to see on this trip and the accommodations were perfectly chosen. The vehicle was clean and well maintained. Naftal was a fabulous guide and host, from meeting us at the airport with smile, through all our game drives and lunches. Knowledgeable, friendly, well presented, and also a bird expert! Excellent for our trip.

When we arrived in Zanzibar, at first we did not know which company to choose for the Safari. We received many offers, but it was Francisco from Lappet Safari that offered the best price and all the important options for an individual tour for us. He aroused the most confidence and already at the stage of coordinating the entire tour took great care of us and tried to do and find everything possible for our trip. For example, my husband and I have been vegetarians for many years, when Francisco found out about this, he immediately clarified what foods we do not eat and agreed with everyone to prepare the appropriate food for us, and it was, and it is very pleasant. At the Arusha airport we were met on time, helped with our suitcases and took us to our hotel. We checked in and then Francisco suggested that we go to the Masaev market to while away the day and at the same time see the outskirts of the city. We agreed, went for a drive around the city and bought souvenirs for ourselves and our relatives at the fair with pleasure. In the morning, just on time, our guide Naf came to pick us up in branded clothes (and not like many other companies like a trader from the market), who looks like a super soldier from Hollywood films. As we learned later, he had had 15 years of experience in safari and, believe me, it was very felt. He knows a lot of interesting features about animals and talks about them right away himself, he didn't even have to ask. He also drives a car very safely, is well-versed in parks, so we were always the first near rare animals or generally the only observers, he speaks English well and is always happy to take care of tourists. We fell in love with him from the first minutes of our acquaintance. The car opens the roof for a better view, they give you the right amount of binoculars, there is also a sanitizer, a special fridge filled with soda and water, and a large bag that holds your lunch and a thermos of hot water for coffee or tea if desired. There are also sockets in the car and you can charge any of your gadgets. The car itself is just a tank on wheels. You can ride on water, mud and anywhere on this colossus very easily and you will never get stuck anywhere. On the first day in the Serengeti Park, we saw baboons, a huge number of zebras, giraffes, crocodiles, pumbaa, hippos, all kinds of antelopes, bison, griffins and hyenas. We also stopped in the village of Masaev, where we were given an excursion, and we presented them to the children, toys brought from Russia, stationery and sweets. The experience was indescribable - it was something to sit in a hut of an African tribe with a local resident and listen to his stories about their life. In the evening we were taken to our campsite, where inside the huge tents everything is like in ordinary hotel rooms - a large four-poster bed, a shower with hot water, a lot of different furniture such as a makeup dressing table or armchairs. The dining room has a separate huge tent, where everything is very beautifully served, chairs are pushed behind you, a special chef prepares - everything is like in a luxury restaurant. The next day we have already set a plan for ourselves to see the lions and all the cats, and there are a lot of them. The Serengeti Park is very beautiful and huge, the nature in it is constantly changing and Naf showed us beautiful atolls made of stones where lions like to stop and these places really look like in the cartoon "The Lion King". Representatives of the feline family, as it turned out, are more fond of walking in fields and grass. Among them we saw cheetahs, caracal, servals, leopards and 2 little lion cubs. We also saw 6 lions with little lion cubs sleeping on a tree with mighty branches, which while we were filming them - we decided to go down, walk next to our car and go into the sunset. It was something. We also saw a crocodile again, but not in the water, but on land, he was so huge asleep on the sand and we looked at him and could not believe our eyes. Then Naf took us to the lake, which was just a thousand pink flamingos. And we decided to eat our lunch there, lunch in the middle of the lake with a huge number of pink flamingos! On the third day we went to Ngorongoro and on the way saw large migrations of antelopes, bison, zebras, very often giraffes and antelopes and sometimes jackals came across on the way. Animal migration is certainly very impressive. And having enjoyed it enough, we went in search of rhinos and elephants. There are a lot of bison, antelope, zebras, birds in the Ngorongoro caldera, and after 20 minutes after driving along the crater we knew, thanks to our guide, where 5 rhinos are now and where are the elephants. We were so happy when we saw them! When we left the park, the road went straight along the edge of the crater and at a great height, around a beautiful tropical forest, as if you were in Bali. And going up the mountain, we saw in parting once again a whole family of 14 elephants! What can I say at the end - Lappet Faced Safaris fully justified our hopes and confidence, fulfilled all our wishes and gave us even more than we expected. Impressions, photos and videos were taken away for a whole year of memories. Only a small part of our adventures is described here.

Safari was an incredible experience for us and especially sleeping in a tent in the Serengeti National Park. Everything was great and we enjoyed adventure. Thank you very much for the entire organization, all the praise for the cook who filled our wishes and of course the big greeting and thank you for Francisco owner and our driver guide on safaris. Knowledgeable, caring and thoughtful guide. Franscisco put us in the right place to see and photograph a wide range of animals. His encyclopedic knowledge enhanced our experience. He was always considerate to the animals and the environment. Truly wonderful experience. We want to come back with him.

The safari itself and mostly as a result of our incredible safari guide, Francisco, was fantastic. We saw incredible animals up close, we saw the Tanzanian countryside, we learned about the people of this country and we were tented and wined and dined in a truly spectacular fashion. The most important part of our learning was thanks to Francisco, who was eager to teach and also eager to hear about our lives. I felt like we departed having been in the presence of a good friend who provided us with an education and experience of a lifetime!
