A glimpse into an exciting day with us

Exciting safari tour with flexibility to suit your needs; Our safari guide Swahibu was also very knowledgeable and informative. Thanks to his quick response and sharp eye we were able to see many exotic and interesting animals including most of the Big Five. We travelled at the end of January which was the wildebeest’s birthing season and we got to witness thousands of wildebeests and their babies moving across Serengeti. Solomon and Swahibu were also able to plan our itinerary to include activities with local tribes such as the Hadzabe, Datoga and Maasai tribes. It was very eye-opening and we enjoyed ourselves very much. I would recommend King Solomon Safaris for anyone who’s visiting Tanzania for the first time and is looking for an immersive safari experience.

Our favourite spots in Tanzania

Tarangire National Park. Tarangire River Bend (near Matete Hill)

  • Central lifeline of the park; top spot for watching predator-prey interaction. Park under shade and observe for 30–60 minutes. Bring out a spotting scope and let clients see elephants digging for water then talk about their memory and matriarchal leadership. ** Silale Swamp**

  • Rich in wildlife year-round, particularly elephants, buffalo, lions, and birdlife. Come in the dry season (June–October) for massive elephant herds. Share stories about how the swamp sustains life when the rest of Tarangire is dry.

Lake Manyara National Park. ** Big Fig Tree and Tree-Climbing Lion Territory**

  • The chance of seeing lions in trees still one of the most unique sights in Africa. Not just the sighting, but watching clients’ faces light up when it happens. Explain the behaviour calmly not just excitement, but biology. Baboon Cliffs

  • A quiet lunch stop, yes but that panoramic view across the Rift Valley to the lake is always a showstopper. A troop of baboons sitting near the edge, with flamingos in the distance below. I use it as a storytelling place on how the escarpment formed, where the lake changes over time, how the migration looks from here.

Ngorongoro Crater. Crater Rim Viewpoints (Sunrise or Late Afternoon)

  • That moment when clouds clear and the whole Crater reveals itself. Even after years, the view stops you. When a client sees it for the first time and you relive that feeling through them. Here you share how the Crater was formed, or even your first time seeing it. you let your passion come through. ** Ngoitokitok Springs**

  • Yes, it’s a common lunch spot, but the energy is always wild. Hippos, elephants, buffalo and you’ve probably seen lions come drink here. Seeing action happen while others are eating. You know to watch while others relax.

Serengeti National Park. ** Retima Hippo Pool (near Seronera)**

  • Pure sensory overload sounds, no smells, and sheer numbers of hippos. Witness teenager hippo fight or yawn caught in perfect light and other animals that come to drink. Watching clients laugh, recoil, and be fascinated all at once. It’s a spot that always gets a reaction and has a picknick area where you can have great time to talk about water cycles in Serengeti and hippo behaviour. clients can also enjoy a hot air balloon ride for a bird's eye view of the savanna. Mara River Crossing Points.

  • No matter how many times you've seen it, a wildebeest crossing is pure adrenaline. You never know what will happen. When the first wildebeest jumps and the herd follows like a living river Reading the herd’s body language. Knowing when to wait. Getting it right. Give clients context: "We may wait two hour or it may happen in five minutes.

Real stories about how we support our clients

Experienced, Caring, Helpful Beyond Expectations We were picked up at the airport and immediately started our excursion while our luggage was delivered to the hotel. After a long day we then were taken to our hotel at which time we found out that there was a booking mix up on our end so we were taken to the hotel that was self-booked and finding out that it was less than accommodating for our group, Solomon and his team picked us up (without being called, just came to check up on us) and took us to the original hotel that we thought we booked, worked to get us checked in with the last of the rooms available with a great discounted price. Solomon and his team went above and beyond in rescuing us from a bad self booked accommodation. Solomon and his team picked us up after hours, took us to a great hotel and worked to get us checked in quickly with a discount rate. We were so fortunate to book our tour with King Solomon.

What are your favourite Kilimanjaro routes, campsites, or acclimatization strategies — and why?

Lemosho Route (7 or 8 days)

Lemosho combines scenic beauty, low traffic, and excellent acclimatization. It starts on the western side of the mountain with rich forest and wildlife, then connects with the Machame route for a dramatic summit approach via Barafu. It is best for the first-time trekkers, photographers, and those who want a high success rate, whereby you cross the Shira Plateau, one of the most beautiful high-altitude landscapes in Africa.

Machame Route (7 days)

Firstly and fore most it is known as the "Whiskey Route," Machame is challenging but rewarding, offering beautiful views, good acclimatization, and varied terrain. It is best for adventurous trekkers with good fitness who want a scenic and direct summit route. Whereby you climb high, sleep low profile helps with acclimatization.

Marangu Route (5-6 days) ;comfortable, classic but with consideration

This is lower than routes like Lemosho or Machame route, due to a faster ascent and limited time for proper acclimatization. Offers hut accommodations rather than tents. It is best for trekkers who prefer a bit more comfort or are trekking during the rainy season, a more budget-friendly experience, Route is less scenic than other, whereby there is n**o **climb high, sleep low advantage, which affects acclimatization.

Favourite Campsites on Kilimanjaro#

LEMOSHO ROUTE & MACAHAME ROUTE CAMPSITES

Shira 2 Camp

it has Incredible views of Kibo peak and the Shira Cathedral. It’s quiet and spacious, a perfect spot to adjust to higher altitudes. Shira 1 camp It is Open moorland with beautiful views of Shira Plateau, big sky and a sense of space.

Barranco Camp

It is an iconic camp located below the Barranco Wall with panoramic views of the glaciers. It’s a morale booster and a favourite among climbers. Barafu Camp[ Base Camp] It is a final stop before summit push and fool of cold, windy, and busy.

Karanga Camp

It is an essential acclimatization stop between Barranco and Barafu. Clients often say that the extra night here made summit day much more manageable. **Crater Camp **(for experienced trekkers only)

It is for experienced trekkers only and clients seeking a unique and challenging experience, an overnight at Crater Camp , just below the summit it offers unmatched proximity to the glaciers. Not for beginners due to the high altitude of 5,700m.also it is an optional.

Mti Mkubwa[ Big tree camp] It is the first camp in the rainforest zone and a quiet, scenic, and great for spotting wildlife.

MARANGU ROUTE CAMPSITES Mandara Hut This is the first overnight stop on the route, located in the lush rainforest zone. It has shared dorm rooms with bunk beds that sleep 4 to 8 people. There's also a dining hall, flush toilets, and solar lighting. **Horombo Hut ** This is the second and possibly also the fourth overnight stop. It offers beautiful views of both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The hut is larger, with more dorm rooms, shared bathrooms, and a common dining area. It often has a lively atmosphere, as climbers going up and coming down pass through here. **Kibo Hut ** This is the final stop before the summit push. It’s located in the alpine desert zone, just below the Kibo crater wall. The dorms here are very basic and more cramped than the others. There is no running water, and only pit toilets are available.

What moments or parts of the mountain do you still find magical — even after climbing hundreds of times?

Sharing Summit Success with Trekkers No matter how many times I have been there, I seeing watching someone reach the summit for the first time is always often emotional, exhausted, and overjoyed and deeply moving. Being part of that personal triumph never loses its impact.

Seeing First-Time Trekkers React to the Glaciers The first time trekkers’ faces amazed when they see the glaciers near the summit and especially those who’ve never seen ice at high altitude it is always special. Despite climate change reducing their size, the glaciers still feel otherworldly and ancient.

Watching the sun rise at Stella Point: Even after countless ascents, there’s something deeply moving about arriving at Stella Point just as the first rays of sunlight break over the horizon. The sky shifts from deep indigo to soft gold, lighting up the crater rim and it’s quiet, surreal, and emotional every single time. Watching trekkers realize they’ve made it to the top edge of Africa is unforgettable.

Passing through the rainforest zone on the first day: The lush greenery, birdsong, and sudden sense of peace in the rainforest still feel magical. It’s the beginning of the journey, and there’s this fresh energy and wonder in the air. You see people shedding their daily lives and starting to connect with the mountain and that transformation never gets old.

A glimpse into an exciting day of safari with us

Exceptional guide, amazing experience Solomon picked us up from the hotel and was an incredible guide throughout the safari. He did everything possible to ensure we had a great experience. Solomon was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our needs. We had many wonderful conversations with Solomon, and he was excellent at explaining the animals we saw and the culture of Tanzania to our children. We were fortunate enough to see all of "the big five" during our safari, thanks to Solomon's genuine interest and knowledge of the animals in the national parks.

In the evenings, we enjoyed more great conversations with Solomon in the tent or at the lodge. We cannot praise him enough; he was a fantastic guide. Our experience with Solomon was entirely positive. We received top-notch service from start to finish and highly recommend his company and especially guide Solomon to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

One of the best local Tour Operator in Tanzania

I worked with King Solomon Safaris for several weeks to design a safari. The lodging was very good at all our stops. We visited the Ngorongoro Conservation area, NGorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, and the Serengeti. My tour was well organized and a good value. My guide Amani was excellent and helped me to get great photos, plus he explained cultural areas and traditions. Solomon and his team were excellent, even retrieving my baggage that went missing with the airline and getting it to me a few days into my trip. A great experience
