📍 Lake Manyara

Mawe Mawe Manyara Lodge is a stylish mid-range lodge set in the hills near Lake Manyara, offering panoramic Rift Valley views. High-season rates typically range from $395–430 per night, with low-season discounts bringing this down to $235–260 (Mar–May). It positions itself above simpler Karatu lodges like Marera and Simba, but below luxury options like Kitela.

From a safari perspective, Mawe Mawe is particularly well-placed if your itinerary includes Lake Manyara National Park, since the lodge is closer to the Manyara gate than Karatu town properties. This makes it more efficient for a full-day Manyara safari compared with staying deeper in Karatu. For crater days, you’ll still need to allow about 30–40 minutes to the Ngorongoro gate, which means reaching the crater floor later than rim lodges.

Compared with Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp (tented, rustic), Marera Valley Lodge (Karatu-based, rustic-chic), and Ngorongoro Farm House (plantation-style), Mawe Mawe stands out as one of the more stylish mid-range options, often chosen by travelers who want comfort and views without moving into the luxury price tier.
