A glimpse into an exciting day of safari with us

One day in Serengeti National Park, our guide noticed some animals acting nervous. He told the guests to stay quiet and turned off the engine. After a few minutes, a lion suddenly came out of the grass right in front of the car. The guests were shocked and excited. Our guide said he knew something was coming because he watched how the other animals were behaving. That moment showed how experience makes a big difference on safari.

Real stories about how we support our clients

During one safari in Serengeti National Park, one of our guests suddenly felt very sick because of the heat and long travel. Our guide stayed calm and acted quickly. He gave the guest water, helped them rest in a cool place, and contacted our office team immediately. We arranged transport to the nearest clinic and made sure the guest received medical care. While this was happening, the rest of the group was also taken care of so no one felt stressed or confused. The next day, the guest felt much better and was very thankful. They said what meant the most was not just the help but how calm, caring, and organized the team was during the problem. For us, safari is not only about wildlife. It is also about taking care of people when they need us most.

What are your favourite Kilimanjaro routes, campsites, or acclimatization strategies — and why?

Favourite Kilimanjaro Routes#

1. Lemosho Route (7–8 Days)

Why it’s a favourite:

  • Best combination of scenic beauty, gradual acclimatization, and summit success rate.

  • Approaches the mountain from the western side — quieter for the first two days and joins the Machame Route near Shira Plateau.

  • Excellent variation in terrain: rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glacier views. Highlights for clients:

  • Panoramic vistas on Shira Ridge.

  • Chance to acclimatize with “climb high, sleep low” days (especially around Lava Tower).

  • Ideal for first-time trekkers who want a comfortable but challenging experience. Key Campsites:

  • Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree) – First night, lush forest.

  • Shira 1 & Shira 2 Camps – Expansive views across the Shira Plateau.

  • Barranco Camp – Iconic setting beneath the Barranco Wall.

  • Karanga Camp – Crucial acclimatization stop before summit night.

  • Barafu Camp – Base for summit push.

2. Machame Route (6–7 Days)

Why it’s a favourite:

  • The “Whiskey Route” — very scenic and challenging, with strong acclimatization opportunities.

  • Excellent choice for fit clients seeking a classic, social Kilimanjaro climb.

  • Route layout follows “trek high, sleep low” pattern, helping adjust to altitude. Highlights for clients:

  • Trek through all major vegetation zones.

  • The Barranco Wall adds an exciting but non-technical climb.

  • Balanced duration and cost compared to longer routes. Key Campsites:

  • Machame Camp – Start of moorland zone.

  • Shira Cave Camp – Expansive plateau views.

  • Barranco Camp – One of the most photographed spots on Kili.

  • Karanga Camp – Great acclimatization stop.

  • Barafu Camp – Staging point for Uhuru Peak ascent.

3. Northern Circuit Route (9 Days)

Why it’s a favourite:

  • Longest route on Kilimanjaro — best acclimatization and least crowded.

  • Circumnavigates the northern slopes for panoramic views of Kenya and the plains below.

  • Highest summit success rate of any route (over 90%). Highlights for clients:

  • Ideal for serious trekkers who want a quiet, remote experience.

  • Time and route structure allow excellent adaptation to altitude.

  • Visits some of Kili’s less-travelled camps, providing solitude and exclusivity. Key Campsites:

  • Shira 1 & 2 Camps

  • Moir Hut Camp – Good acclimatization day hikes available.

  • Pofu Camp – Beautiful views across northern slopes.

  • Third Cave Camp – Peaceful overnight stop before summit approach.

  • School Hut or Kibo Hut – Final camp before summit.

What moments or parts of the mountain do you still find magical — even after climbing hundreds of times?
  • The stillness just before dawn on the ridge.

  • The crunch of fresh snow underfoot after a storm.

New Year in Safari

Fantastic experience that I highly recommend to all nature and adventure lovers. Jacben expedition was very helpful in adapting the itinerary according to our needs. Were punctual in a all transference, the jeep used was large, comfortable and always in excellent condition. Our guide Clement was very careful to never let us miss water and other comforts during the Safari, also excellent organization of lunches, never trivial and always of excellent quality (very appreciated Tanzanian wine!). The lodges we stayed in during the safaris are very nice, clean and with very kind staff. Last but not least, the park safari was undoubtedly the best part, thanks to our guide we were able to see the big 5 and many other animals, some of them unexpected. The trip was well organized, few downtimes but with the right time to rest. If we return to Tanzania, I would no doubt contact them again!

Asante Sana Jacben

We booked a 5 night safari with Jackson, the guide was his brother Clement who despite his young age 23 years was very good and very kind during the days spent together. We saw the first day the Tarangire park, then 2 consecutive days in the Serengeti and last day ngorongoro. We saw everything there was to see, as well as all the herbivores including the rhinoceros, we saw lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas in large quantities. Healthy Asante Jackson and Clement

The best!!!

Feb 2026 • Couples This is the most incredible adventure for wildlife lovers! My husband and I got to live out our dream safari experience. The beginning of February is a great time to visit Tanzania because of the good weather and the calving season. Our guide, Clement, is an excellent driver and a wonderful person: kind and professional. Thanks to him, we spotted all the animals in the book! Jackson did a great job coordinating everything, and was always available if we needed anything. The accommodation was perfect and the food was delicious. Overall, we couldn't recommend Jacben Expeditions more highly!

Fantastic safari with Jacben Expeditions and Clement guide

The safari with Jacben expeditions was amazing, truly a wonderful experience! We have seen all the animals that are in Tanzania, exciting to be so close several times to these animals of the savannah, as in the movies. The lodges chosen were very nice and with all the staff always very nice. Clement was our exceptional guide, a guy who speaks very good Italian (and this is another plus that many of them including the owner Jackson speak Italian), very good driving, patient and attentive to all our needs and we can only thank him so much! My wife and I warmly recommend booking directly with Jacben Expeditions because you come back delighted!

Stunning trip to Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorogoro Crater

I want to thanks Andrew for an absolutely amazing first safari experience. We were recommended Andrew and his company by a family member, and absolutely were not disappointed. I was liaising with Andrew from a number of weeks out, going over all questions our group had, and being very attentive with his replies. Once everything was agreed he then came to meet us himself, on his birthday no less! My key takeaways - the vehicle that we had was the best vehicle for the job. Some others (other companies) were older, but the jackpot vehicle was top notch. Combine that with our driver Samwell being the absolute best, and you've got all you need for a safari. Andrew had also arranged for us to be staying at the Kudu Lodge both nights. This was an absolutely amazing treat, and I'd highly recommend a stay there if anyone is nearby.

Responsive , Flexible , good quality service

We were a group of 4 , 3 adults 1 kid and For our 3 nights safari during Christmas period, I contacted other big companies first but they were so slow to respond and not helping, later I saw leopard tours on instagram , I reach them on WhatsApp immediately I decided to work with them , Andrew was really helpful , quick and understanding, we plan 4 day safari but after 1st night because of the 8yo kid we decided to change the route and take the flight from Serengeti to Zanzibar directly , last day I asked Andrew , he talk with the hotels and change the days of the hotels which was not easy ( since they are big hotels, melia and Serena ) , our driver Silvano was really good and completely flexible for our needs which is the best part for us

Great time, great people, great experience

Andrew planned everything with great detail, always making sure to keep six people happy at all times (which isn’t that easy, I’m sure about that - so big thankyou for this too!!). This 3-day Safari was a truly great experience and that’s also down to the wonderful crew - biggest kudos go out to our tour guide, Ibrahim, a very kind man who was always super respectful of the animals we saw, keeping the right distance and not being intrusive on their space. Asante sana! Now we want to come back for some more Safari action in the Serengeti!!
